Marcos is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategy and leadership across both the public sector overseas and New Zealand's private education industry.
In the government of the State of São Paulo, he held pivotal roles such as Chief Economic Advisor, Deputy Regional Director of Tax Administration, and Energy Sector Manager, driving substantial business transformations. Marcos holds a Master’s in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Economics from the prestigious FGV/EPGE in Brazil.
Combining strong analytical and interpersonal skills, Marcos thrives in fast-paced and complex environments. His leadership style, characterized by uniting people and leading strategic change, has yielded notable successes. During his tenure as Director of Strategy and Business Development at Aspire2 International in New Zealand, one of the country's largest private tertiary teaching institutions, Marcos built a reputation for achieving strategic objectives and fostering collaboration.
Originally from the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Marcos is a citizen of Brazil and a permanent resident of New Zealand. Since moving to New Zealand in 2017 with his wife and three teenage children, Marcos has seamlessly integrated his rich cultural background with his professional expertise.
