David Schurmann is a filmmaker, partner in the Schurmann initiatives, and founder-CEO of Voz dos Oceanos (Voice of the Oceans). He began his cinematic journey at the age of 13, documenting the Schurmann Family's first circumnavigation of the globe.

After graduating in New Zealand, he directed films and TV programs overseas before returning to Brazil to direct and produce the well-known series Magalhães Global Adventure for Fantástico, the award-winning documentary The World in Two Rounds, and the series Expedição Oriente, aired on National Geographic.

As a director of fiction films, his notable works include Little Secret, Brazil's submission for the 2017 Oscars and nominated in four categories for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro. He also directed The Penguin & The Fisherman, an American production starring Jean Reno and Adriana Barraza, set to premiere in 2024.

Currently, David focuses on developing his upcoming films and series while leading the Voz dos Oceanos initiative, a global movement advocating for the oceans, supported worldwide by the UN Environment Program.
