Alexandre Oliveira

Alexandre Fernandes de Oliveira is the Chief Investment Officer in IFC’s Global Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services Department, Health, and Education Division. In this role, he is responsible for the origination, evaluation, structuring, and negotiation of IFC investments in the health and education sectors in Asia.
Alex rejoined IFC after three years with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he served as Division Chief for the Industries and Services Division. At IDB, he led a team of professionals responsible for financing the industrial and service sectors across Latin America.
Prior to IDB, Alex spent eight years with IFC, covering global health and education sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked for J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank in New York, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and debt capital markets.
Alex holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, a Civil Engineering Degree from the University of São Paulo, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil. Alex divides his time between New Zealand and Singapore, sharing this lifestyle with his partner, Tanya, and their four children.
